Ice Bath Installation & MEP Guide
Arctic Edge ice baths are plug-and-play systems. Plan a suitable power socket, hose filling, drainage, ventilation and a stable base before delivery. No permanent plumbing connection is required.

Arctic Sereno dry bath weight: 270 kg.
Filled bath weights exclude the user. Check the complete load, including water, users, the 38 kg chiller and additional equipment. Doorway figures do not replace checking packaging, turns, lifts and the entire delivery route.
Base, water and drainage
- Provide a firm, level, load-bearing hardstanding base, such as a concrete slab or tiles over a suitable concrete substrate. Do not place directly on soil, grass or loose gravel.
- Confirm structural capacity for the complete installation, especially on balconies and upper floors.
- Provide a nearby tap for hose filling and a suitable floor drain. Emptying is gravity-fed through a hose connected to the rear drain valve.
- Keep filling, drainage, filters and controls accessible. Plan surface drainage to avoid standing water.
Electrical supply and Wi-Fi
Provide a weatherproof 13 A socket within 1 metre of the chiller. The site requirement is 220–240 V, single-phase; the supplied SV-10 sheet states 220 V / 50 Hz. The installer must check the delivered rating, circuit capacity, earthing, RCD operation and any additional protection required.
The chiller has built-in RCD protection. Stated electrical input is 1,120 W (1.12 kW); this is not a maximum-current or compressor starting-current rating. A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection and Tuya app setup are mandatory for automatic scheduling and remote monitoring.
Chiller positioning and ventilation
The wheeled chiller measures 525 mm wide × 365 mm maximum depth × 584 mm high. It can be positioned up to 3 metres from the bath, on the same floor level only—never above or below it. Allow extra space for hoses, ventilation and servicing.
Keep at least 300 mm between the chiller fan and a wall. Do not obstruct air inlets or outlets or enclose the chiller in unventilated joinery. Indoors, ventilation and/or cooling must remove the rejected heat and prevent warm exhaust air recirculating into the chiller.
Stated cooling capacity is 3.10 kW and heating capacity is 3.60 kW. Indicative heat discharged by the chiller in cooling mode is approximately 4.22 kW (3.10 kW cooling plus 1.12 kW input). This is not a verified maximum or a final room AC duty. The project MEP contractor must confirm actual heat rejection, ambient limits and the full room heat/moisture balance before selecting ventilation or AC.
System features and outdoor protection
Arctic Edge confirms a 0°C–42°C water temperature range. Advanced three-stage filtration combines ozone, a 20-micron filter and a reusable hair filter. The specified refrigerant is R32, with a 360 g charge. Follow the current manufacturer instructions for the delivered unit.
Outdoor baths and equipment must remain under protective cover, out of direct sun and protected from rain at all times.
Commissioning and essential care
- Fill and complete priming/air purging as instructed before starting. Check connections for leaks, verify circulation and test the automatic schedule. Never run the pump dry.
- Set a 2–3 degree deviation. Aim for 10 operating hours daily, never exceed 12, and switch off overnight. Circulate water for at least 4 hours every day.
- Check flow every morning and evening. Maintain at least 20 L/min. Below this, clean the reusable hair filter, restart and recheck; if still low, replace the micron filter and recheck. If flow remains low or stops, stop use and contact Arctic Edge.
- Clean the hair filter every 2–3 days on average. Replace the micron filter monthly or sooner if flow drops. Change water every 2–4 weeks, sooner if cloudy or heavily used.
- Barrel and Oval: towel dry the teak after use. Fully sand and apply two coats of outdoor teak oil every four months.
- Sereno: no sanding, teak oil or sealing is required for the travertine finish.
